It’s a pleasant feel for everyone who stays at home on a really hard Monday. However, to make everything set right at office being at home isn’t quite easier task.

What we usually do is to sit in our couch and start working in our lappy. Jus think how cool it would be if you can place a cup of coffee on your right and some crispy cookies on your left meanwhile working in your lappy. Well lemme not drive you crazy anymore. For the coffee lovers, here comes a sweet gadget that can make you a hot cup of coffee and additionally serve as your lap top stand.

This coffee table is too flexible that doesn’t stop with making coffee and serving as laptop table, yet it can also be used as stand for snacks. Literally a mini office cabin at home!!

Dragon Quest Controller for A real time War

Square Enix has a game named Dragon Quest Swords in 2008, which uses the Wiimote to simulate a sword.

Well this wasn’t the first one, since The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess already comprised the same. I am not sure that was the first time its been done, but using the Wiimote as a sword has now become a convention.

What is the actual convention is the controller from Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road Victory. Yes, that is a very long name, and this is the Wii version of the controller.

Sony has released a new water resistant, wearable Walkman “NWZ-250″. This tiny Walkman comes in 2GB and 4GB capacity, and apparently boasts an up to 11 hour battery life.
Weighing in at 43 grams and will be available in attractive colors - black, silver, lime green, and magenta.

iFrogz The Bomb is the bomb

How would you react if you receive a bomb in the mail? Don’t bother, you will be quite alright. The Bomb actually refers to The Bomb from iFrogz.

The Bomb is a set of speakers that can fix together to form a ball shape. Granted, I’m not aware why they chose ball shape, but when they are separated, the speakers look like Yin and Yang symbols. The 50 mm speakers is carrying 2W each, with a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms.

These two speakers always stay connected by a curly cord that joins them. These speakers can connect to anything with a 3.5 mm input jack, yet they still need power. Power can be accomplished with 3 AAA batteries, or through a USB internet connection.

Mertz active vision robotic head from MIT

I knew realistic robot heads like the Mertz active vision head robot before, and they are usually designed to see what it would be like if robots could display facial expressions.


In that case, you might wonder why someone would design this robot head to look like a freaky baby head instead of a handsome face.
Actually, the ultimate purpose of this robot isn’t to test how a human will respond to it, but how the robot will react to humans. Check out more on this MIT experiment after the jump.


According to the source Mertz is “built to recognize and react to faces and expressions, aiming to research socially situated learning which is similar to an infant’s learning process”.
In other words, it is a robot which is able to “learn” just like my baby son is learning to recognize facial features, and learning to speak by parroting those around him.

So how much emotional expression is it capable of? Well, I once heard that humans have thousands forms of expression in their face, and I believe that Mertz is capable of 13 degrees articulation in its neck alone. Who knows what its eyes and mouth are capable of.

This robot is the awesome creation of Lijin Aryananda and Jeff Weber at the MIT Media Lab. I strongly hope this experiment works, but if it does, it proves that machines can learn. Whoa, not certain that I’m ready for that one.

Scandyna Megapod Speaker

Most speakers are made to be pushed into corners and barely ever get noticed. This Scandyna Megapod Speaker flat refuses to do that exactly. The shape itself draws your attention, then with the bright red it becomes impossible to ignore. Of course if red won’t really go with the colors within your home, there are many other color choices that aren’t quite so beautiful.

This measures 884 by 348 by 535mm and it also has a 25mm free-mounted tweeter. In addition to that it also contains a 125mm midrange driver. If these look familiar, it’s probably because you would have come across the Minipod. It attributes the same odd shape as the Megapod. This larger version comes in various colors as blue, red, silver, yellow and white. To purchase it, it will cost around $2149 in Amazon.

Sony Walkman B150 series

Sony and their Walkman range has always been identical with portable audio, and that has been the case for many years until the cassette died a slow death, where the Discman series never really took off due to the prohibitive cost and much lower battery life back in the day.
Apart from that, the rise of digital audio in the form of MP3 files alongside Apple’s coup de grace in the form of the iPod family guaranteed that the Walkman name would never reach the giddy heights of its heyday, but that doesn’t signify Sony will just walk over and let other companies walk all over them.
The Sony Walkman B150 series is a proof of that, targeting younger folks who are looking for their first MP3 player (parents could play a crucial role here), boasting great sound with pumping bass that will surely get you moving.

A team of scientists from the UK and the US has discovered a galaxy far away from us which is tossing out stars 250 times faster than our Milky Way. The discovery of the galaxy, about 10 billion light years away from the earth, will help researchers understand how the Milky Way has been formed.

Galaxy SMM J2135- 0102 has four distinct star- forming regions, each of which is 100 times brighter than Milky Way locations for example the Orion Nebula. The team that discovered the galaxy was led by scientists from the UK's Durham University.
It also comprised researchers from European Southern University and the Massachusetts based Harvard- Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics. Mr.Mark Swinbank, lead scientist in Durham University said that the new galaxy is forming stars at about 250 suns per year and added that Our Milky Way is forming at about two suns per year. Because of the time it takes light to reach the earth, the scientists found the galaxy as it would have appeared 10 billion years ago - just three billion years after the Big Bang.

It was about Milky Way- sized at that time. But today, 10 billion years later, it would have grown into a giant elliptical galaxy very much massive than the Milky Way." When we look at the stars in the Milky Way, we can find that most are about 10 billion years old. So, in order to understand how the Milky Way was formed, we must look back to these times. Swinbank said that the main result of our study is that we have located four individual star- forming regions.

Each of these regions is forming stars very rapidly than we would expect, given their sizes. Swinbank added that the regions are much more efficient at forming stars than we typically see in the local universe. The findings signify star formation was more vigorous in the early universe.

Samsung has just launched its 10 models of 3D Televisions in Delhi, India. Samsung will be the first company to manufacture the 3D TVs in India at its Chennai and Noida factories. Wow! It’s certainly a great work.

Samsung 3D TVs have the capacity to automatically convert all 2D video to 3D. Monster vs Aliens 3D DVD is to be bundled with all Samsung 3D TVs, 2 active shutter 3D glasses also bundled with TVs. Samsung is additionally launching 3D Blu-ray players.

This amazing TV will be available soon with the price tag RS. 1,29,000 to Rs. 4,35,000 for 40 – 65 inches in LED, LCD and Plasma versions.

Samsung launched its 3d TV series in US, UK & now in India and planing to launch all over the world. Samsung App Store for Internet-enabled TVs will also be available soon.

I suppose that many of us don’t like to be away from our e-mail for a prolonged period of time, myself included. Well for all of us I have a cool stuff to share with. As you can probably find out from this photo, this is certainly a DIY project. Chris and Madeline Ball have posted their work on the MAKE website, and succeeded in their quest of showing the world just how much email that the wearer is getting.

Observe the picture that depicts the process. You can see that it uses an Arduino Lilypad controller, connected to an Android device that wirelessly syncs with a computer to light up how many emails that you have.

Some of you might have noticed that it uses a binary numbers (exponents of the power of 2) to show the number of e-mails, which means you have to add these numbers up to get the correct amount. The max it will show is 127 emails. If you have that many after few hours, then man, you are just way too busy.

I really don’t know why you can’t just get yourself a data plan on your mobile phone and check your emails that way. Still, if this couple can figure out a way to mass-produce this shirt, then it would be the latest fad.

Portable GPS Tracker

This must be one of (if not the) coolest spy gadgets I’ve ever came across. It’s sort of a cross between a USB memory stick and a GPS receiver and what it does is storing where ever you take it on the flash memory.

The Portable GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it upon a person or vehicle you desire to monitor. You might be wondering how you retrieve the stored info and secret routes; well that’s where it gets really cool.

Once the tracker has done its travels and its back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data. And this data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.

I just think this is certainly so cool. May be it has the spy functionality of tracking somebody else but to me it is even more useful for tracking your own holidays and backpacking adventures. So not only can you tire visitors with your holiday snaps you can also show them exactly where you went.

Laptops are portable, they’re stylish, and let’s face it: the opposite sex will feel you more sophisticated when you’re suavely tapping out your latest blog entry at the coffee shop. Okay, that’s probably not true, but they are fun to have for both work and to play.
